Frequently asked questions

Choosing to begin therapy is a meaningful step.

It’s normal to feel curious, cautious, or even unsure about what to expect. This page is here to ease that process, so you feel supported, informed, and welcomed before we even meet.

How many sessions can I expect?

Every client’s process is different. Some people notice meaningful shifts in just a few sessions, while others choose to work longer-term for deeper integration. We’ll decide together what feels right for your goals.

Do you take insurance? How does payment work?

Yes, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice insurance plans.

If you have a different provider, sessions are $200 per session out of pocket. I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

To make things easier, I also work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients submit superbills for reimbursement, saving you time and paperwork.

What makes your approach different from other therapy practices?

My work is trauma-informed, nervous-system centered, and deeply human. I don’t see you as a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. I see you as a whole person: your body, your emotions, your story, your relationships, and your resilience.

I often weave EMDR and yoga therapy together. EMDR helps the brain reprocess painful memories, while yoga therapy anchors those shifts in the body. Together, they create real, lasting change that feels safe and integrated.

What does yoga therapy look like?

Yoga therapy isn’t about mastering poses or being flexible. Sessions are gentle and tailored to you. We may use breathwork, meditation, affirmations, or simple movement to release tension and reconnect with the body. It’s about creating a safe space where your nervous system can regulate and your emotions can move, not about performance.

What does EMDR look like?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess difficult experiences. We begin with resourcing, building tools like grounding and breath so you feel steady and safe. When you’re ready, we work with the memories you want to shift, always at the pace your nervous system can handle. You’ll never be pushed faster than what feels right for you.

Is EMDR safe? What if I get overwhelmed?

EMDR is designed to be safe and structured. You’ll never have to relive your trauma alone or without support. Together, we’ll use grounding, breath, and resourcing techniques so you can feel steady, even as you process difficult material.

Do I have to talk about my trauma out loud with EMDR?

No. You can share as much, or as little, as you choose. EMDR works even if you never verbalize the memory. Many clients find relief in knowing they can process deeply without needing to say every detail.

Have you seen real change with EMDR and yoga therapy?

Absolutely. Clients describe feeling more confident, safe, and connected to themselves. They’re able to self-soothe, regulate their nervous system, and trust their bodies again. Many share that emotions begin to move instead of staying trapped, numbness shifts into presence, and life starts to feel fuller and freer.

Is therapy worth the investment of time and money?

Yes, and please know that this isn’t a quick-fix therapy. It’s about lasting change, breaking free from old patterns so you can feel whole, alive, and present again. The investment is in yourself, your growth, and the life you want to create.
